Our process
- Harvest. Ripe yellow neem fruit, gathered by the basket.
- Sun drying. Fresh yellow fruit dries across the yard to brown.
- De-husking. Dried fruit goes into machinery that opens the husk.
- Separation. Machinery separates the husk from the kernel.
- Clean kernels. Clean kernels move on to the cast-iron Chekku.
- The Chekku. Kernels are cold-pressed in a cast-iron Chekku. Oil drains; neem kernel cake remains.
